Each of our kids took advantage of Washington's Running Start program which allowed them to complete an Associate of Arts degree during their last two high school years. After that they both graduated from great colleges - with generous financial aid programs (whew!) - and they are both moving on with their lives.
The picture below was taken on the day our son Greg graduated from Tufts University in the Boston area in 2017. Greg received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Music Engineering. He is now employed as an E-Mobility Systems Validation Engineer with Daimler Trucks North America in Portland, OR where he is involved in their all-electric semi-truck project. He has also continued his music career, both as a solo artist and by playing and recording with a number of bands.
Meanwhile, our daughter Maria graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College in Hartford, CT where she carried two majors - Mathematics and Urban Studies - as well as two minors - Russian and Models and Data. Maria spent her first year after graduation in Russia teaching English on a Fulbright at the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building, and she is now in her third year in the Applied Math PhD program at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
